Job Description

Our client is seeking a Hydrology & Hydraulics Professional Engineer to join a growing team focused on delivering high-quality stormwater and flood management solutions. This role involves leading and mentoring staff, managing project budgets and schedules, and developing hydrologic and hydraulic models for a variety of infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a client-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in growing the Hydrology & Hydraulics (H&H) Team and supporting the Team Leader.
  2. Manage projects, including budget, scope, and schedule oversight.
  3. Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models , analyses, reports, and designs.
  4. Conduct QA/QC on reports, models, and designs to ensure high standards.
  5. Coordinate with agencies, contractors, and consultants to facilitate project completion.
  6. Supervise and mentor junior staff to support their professional development.
  7. Support business development initiatives , including proposal preparation, client engagement, and marketing efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  2. Texas P.E. License required.
  3. Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering and H&H design.
  4. Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship-building skills.
  5. Knowledge of Houston Metro area regulatory standards and agency requirements.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet client deadlines efficiently.

Preferred Software Skills:

  1. Required: HEC-RAS (1D/2D preferred), HEC-HMS.
  2. Preferred: XP-SWMM or similar software, GIS (ArcMap/Pro), AutoCAD.
  3. Proficient: MS Word, Excel (including formulas), Outlook, and PowerPoint.
