Director of Engineering for a DTC eCommerce Vitamin & Supplement Brand - 100% Remote / Full-Time

Due to rapid growth, they are seeking a Director of Engineering to unify and optimize their technology operations.
As the Director of Engineering , you will play a critical role in driving the company's technical vision, optimizing digital infrastructure, and leading a high-performing team. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership position where you will oversee eCommerce development, digital marketing technology, and data-driven innovations to enhance customer experience and business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unify the company’s technology stack, integrating Shopify, CDPs, ERP systems, and marketing technology into a cohesive strategy that supports business growth.
- Assess current technical challenges and establish priorities to drive innovation and efficiency across eCommerce, performance marketing, and customer tracking.
- Build and scale an engineering team while overseeing additional recruitment for future growth.
- Optimize and refine legacy systems to simplify, automate, and improve overall business operations—with a focus on data activation, tracking, and marketing optimization.
- Lead migration efforts from Instapages to Builder.io, implementing a modern, headless React-based CMS to improve website performance and conversion.
- Oversee the integration of ERP solutions to enhance order management, fulfillment, and cross-department efficiency.
- Leverage customer data platforms (CDPs) like Rudderstack, Klaviyo, and Attentive to create unified customer profiles that drive retention and acquisition strategies.
- Implement data governance, event tracking, and analytics best practices to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Introduce AI-driven insights and automation tools to enhance marketing efficiency and personalization efforts.
- Partner with executive leadership to ensure technical initiatives are aligned with business objectives and revenue growth goals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Director of Engineering, CTO, or senior technical leader within a fast-growing eCommerce or DTC brand.
- Expertise in Shopify development, performance marketing technology, ERP solutions, and customer data platforms (CDPs).
- Deep understanding of data engineering, tracking, and analytics, including experience with event tracking tools like Rudderstack.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, bridging the gap between engineering, marketing, customer experience, and operations.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology strategy with key business outcomes.
- Familiarity with generative AI applications and their potential for driving marketing and customer insights is a plus.
