Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek a Project Engineer to work on an initial 6-month contract in Houston, TX with benefits.


Position Summary

  • Position Title: Principal Project Engineer (Brownfield)
  • This position provides leadership, direction and immediate support for:
    • Asset Engineers (e.g., Process, I&C, Electrical, etc.)
    • Service Providers and Contractors supporting the Asset

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to: GOM Surface Engineering Manager
  • Direct Reports: N/A

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Shenzi Integrated Control & Safety System (ICSS) Upgrade Project – Act as project lead/manager to accomplish phased delivery of project, via support of internal technical lead (SHZ I/A Frontline Engineer) as required, management of performance of Automation contractor (i.e., Champion Technology Services) who will act as “turn-key” contractor for the remainder of the project, and management of overall Project Cost & Schedule.
    • BACKFILL SCOPE = Support Execution Planning & Delivery of Phases 2B & 3A of the project during upcoming “Extended Shut-In” on Shenzi TLP (currently scheduled for 6/2/25 - 6/25, but subject to change).
  • Shenzi Solar Turbine Control System Upgrade Project – Act as project manager to lead project through detailed design phase and ultimately through full scope delivery by Q2 of 2026, leveraging “multi-disciplinary virtual team” of internal technical leads (I/A, Electrical, & Rotating Equipment Engineers) and contractors (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Vibration Specialists, Turbine OEM, etc.), and actively managing project cost and schedule.
    • BACKFILL SCOPE = Support 1. Offshore Execution of “Oil P/L Pump” phase of project (i.e., Phase 1), 2. Detailed Design on “Water Injection Pump” phase of project (Phase 2), and 3. Detailed Design on “Turbine Generator” phase of project (Phase 3).
  • Gulf of Mexico (GOM) & Angostura (T&T) Asset Decarbonization – Act as “Decarb Champion” from the Engineering team to help lead monthly routines and drive progression/execution of key initiatives in approved Asset Decarbonization Plans for both GOM and T&T.
    • BACKFILL Scope = Take over leadership of “Monthly Decarbonization Routines” for each Asset and provide additional delivery support to Decarb Initiative Focal Points, as needed.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to process safety, particularly as it relates to Project Planning & Execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate and manage change management across the asset
  • Ability to influence and earn credibility across all levels of the asset
  • Ability to coordinate and implement small to mid-scale Capital Brownfield projects/improvements
