The Talent Acquisition Partner contributes to the overall success of Markel by aligning Talent Acquisition strategies with our business goals and priorities. The Talent Acquisition Partner will work closely with Business Leaders and their HR partners to understand the hiring needs and design customized strategies to attract and hire the best talent. The Talent Partner will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of recruiters, ensuring that they deliver high quality results and provide a positive hiring experience for all stakeholders. The Talent Partner will be an expert in talent acquisition, a consultant to the business and a coach to the team.

Markel is currently seeking a dedicated Talent Acquisition Partner to lead our dynamic recruiting team!

Core Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders to identify current and future talent gaps and develop and implement effective sourcing and market strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of recruiters, providing them with guidance, feedback, and training.
  • Oversee all activities related to strategic and tactical sourcing, talent pipeline development, and operationalize market strategies.
  • Analyze and monitor KPI metrics and data trends to evaluate the performance and efficiency of the recruitment team and processes, as well as propose improvements and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards and policies related to talent acquisition.
  • Regularly present to business leaders on progress and meet with them to ensure quality assurance.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven experience in full life-cycle recruitment, with a track record of successfully leading and developing recruitment teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field -OR- minimum 4 years of additional relevant recruiting experience in lieu of.
  • Strong understanding and proven track record of utilizing talent sourcing techniques and implementing market strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Previous experience in performing quality assurance and ensuring HR compliance.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards related to TA and federal & local employment laws.
  • A blend of corporate and staffing agency experience is preferred.
  • Prior Insurance Industry experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Workday as an applicant tracking system (ATS) is preferred.
