Amazon is a highly data driven company, obsessive about metrics. The Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) plays a crucial role in building and analyzing data systems, spotting important business patterns, creating metrics that measure success, and developing ways to validate our findings. The BIE will work closely with the ICQA, Learning, and Finance departments to provide analytical support for the business.

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of complex BI solutions.
  2. Partner with Data Analysts to enhance data infrastructure and availability during Prime/Peak Events.
  3. Use data mining and model building to create solutions for growing analytical needs.
  4. Drive projects on machine learning, data automation, governance, and standardization.
  5. Develop innovative BI and data analytics solutions leveraging generative AI (AWS Bedrock) to build intelligent knowledge bases and conversational interfaces for enhanced business insights and recommendations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc. experience.
  2. Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tool(s) to extract data, formulate metrics, and build reports.
  3. Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g., t-test, Chi-squared).
  4. Experience with a scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, Julia, or R).
  5. Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift (AWS certification is a plus).
  6. Experience with creating genAI LLM models and applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Master's degree or advanced technical degree.
  2. Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design.
  3. Experience with statistical analysis and correlation analysis.
  4. Experience in creating web applications using modern frameworks (React, Ruby, Streamlit, Genie).
