Position Impact

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the IT Manager is responsible for oversight and management of the organization’s IT assets and infrastructure. This role will direct provisioning for new staff, manage the existing IT Help Desk provider, and develop short-term and long-term IT strategy for the organization.

Key Job Functions and Responsibilities

Overall Information Systems Planning, Implementation, and Administration for a Fully Remote Workplace

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy to meet the needs of a distributed workforce.
  • Implement tools and platforms to enhance collaboration and productivity.
  • Oversee the maintenance and optimization of cloud-based systems and SaaS applications.
  • Lead the integration of new technologies to improve operational efficiency while aligning with organizational goals.

Business Needs Analysis and IT Asset Management

  • Collaborate with departments to identify technology requirements and recommend solutions.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed IT investments to ensure alignment with budget and organizational goals.
  • Evaluate and select hardware and software solutions that optimize workflows and improve user experience.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services and products.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and subscriptions.
  • Implement asset tracking systems to monitor the lifecycle of IT equipment from acquisition to decommissioning.
  • Ensure proper allocation and deployment of IT resources to meet organizational needs.
  • Develop and enforce policies for the responsible use, replacement, and disposal of IT assets.
  • Optimize asset utilization to minimize costs and maximize efficiency across the organization.

Implementation and Management of System and Data Security Measures

  • Establish and maintain security protocols to safeguard sensitive organizational data.
  • Regularly review and update cybersecurity measures to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and test backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a disruption.
  • Conduct security training for employees to promote awareness and adherence to IT policies.

Development of IT Infrastructure Documentation and Future Improvement Planning

  • Maintain thorough documentation of IT infrastructure, workflows, and processes for ease of replication and troubleshooting.
  • Design and oversee the execution of project plans for IT upgrades and implementations, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Develop user guides and training materials to ensure staff are well-equipped to utilize IT tools effectively.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of IT initiatives, providing regular updates to leadership.

Requirements

  • 3+ years managing IT assets (hardware, software, licenses, and subscriptions).
  • 3+ years implementing and maintaining cybersecurity protocols and disaster recovery plans.
  • 3+ years in managing systems and infrastructure for a distributed workforce, including remote IT environments.
  • 3+ years in operational IT planning, adopting new technologies, and staying updated on industry trends.
  • Proven experience conducting business needs analysis, developing IT infrastructure documentation, and managing IT upgrade projects.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and ensuring high-quality IT services/products.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams to identify IT needs and develop solutions preferred.

Location and Physical Requirements

  • Permanent work authorization in the United States is required to apply for this position.
  • This is a remote, full-time, exempt position. Occasional in-person attendance at meetings and collaboration sessions may be required.
  • Ability to work at a desk and on a computer for the full work day. Repetitive motions, such as typing on a keyboard, may be part of the daily tasks.
  • While the role is generally not physically demanding, the ability to lift and carry light objects may be required occasionally.
  • Strong visual acuity is essential for reading and analyzing data on a computer screen.

Salary and Benefits

  • The full salary range for this position is $114,000-126,000 annually. The starting salary will fall within the hiring range of $114,000-120,000, based on the skills and experience of the selected candidate.
  • OBUSA offers a competitive benefits package, including health/dental/vision insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, plus a retirement plan with an employer match.
  • OBUSA offers PTO, a combined sick and vacation bucket which accrues to a total of 15 days a year, with an additional day a year added for each year of service. We offer ten federal holidays and a week of paid time off at the end of the year.
