Job Overview
The Meat Team Member supports the overall success of the meat department by performing tasks related to counter service, stocking, and sanitation. This role requires providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and adhering to company standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a visually appealing display by checking product quality, rotating stock, and removing out-of-date products.
Ensure back stock is well-organized and easily accessible.
Participate in sampling programs and maintain sample areas.
Clean and sanitize cases, glass, signs, and equipment as required.
Arrive on time, dress professionally, and work all scheduled shifts.
Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and making recommendations.
Maximize sales potential through effective merchandising and inventory management.
Follow established procedures for health and safety, including Weights and Measures and sanitation practices.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company standards.
Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
Report any safety hazards or concerns.
Requirements
Sell proactively and learn basic product knowledge.
Visually inspect products for quality and freshness.
Familiarize yourself with product labels and ingredients.
Assist with periodic inventory checks.
Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.
Meet customer service expectations and follow directions.
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
Comply with WFM quality goals and adhere to company policies.
Working Conditions
Lift 50 pounds.
Stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
Use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Motion: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
Exposed to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
Exposure to temperatures below 32°F, 32-40°F, and above 90°F.
Work in a wet and cold environment.
Handle knives and cutting equipment.
Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Operate tools and equipment, including box cutters and heavy machinery.
