Job Overview:
A reputable law firm in Joliet, IL is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trial Attorney with expertise in medical malpractice cases. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing all aspects of trial work, including depositions, court appearances, briefs, motion practice, client interactions, and trials. Duties:

  • Handle a caseload with a focus on medical malpractice claims.
  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including depositions, hearings, motions, and trials.
  • Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Prepare and present persuasive arguments in court.
  • Consult with clients to discuss case strategies and updates.
  • Collaborate with legal teams and other professionals to ensure thorough case preparation.
  • Maintain a high level of client communication and satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on developments in medical malpractice law and case precedents.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in handling medical malpractice cases.
  • Strong trial experience, including depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively and efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Valid Bar license in the state of Illinois.

Skills:

  • Medical malpractice litigation experience.
  • Trial preparation and strategy.
  • Legal research and writing.
  • Client communication and relationship management.
  • Strong courtroom presence and persuasive advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency in legal technology and case management tools.
