Job Overview: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building tasks. Performing of facility maintenance tasks includes (but not limited to) carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, plumbing, etc. Tasks also include snow removal, lawn care, general cleaning and other duties as assigned (by Maintenance Supervisor). Position includes lifting (can be heavy at times). They must be able to relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds and maintain strict client confidentiality. This position travels to all PV locations: Bloomington, Richfield, Minneapolis, St. Paul, RosevilleDuties & Responsibilities:Understand and assist in maintenance tasks associated with general building wellness systems (heating, water, electric, etc.).Assure safety standards are used which comply with all local, city, state and federal guidelines.Ensure compliance with fire and safety codes/regulations.Perform daily building, mechanical/electrical/control checks and documentation, as assigned. Performs minor electrical maintenance to include, but not limited to, replacement or repair of fixtures (wall outlets, light bulbs & tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, etc.)Perform minor plumbing maintenance (replacement or repair of leaks, unclogging drains, replacement of washers, faucets and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment, etc.)Performs painting, carpentry and masonry work (prepares surfaces, hanging doors, fitting locks, etc.)Reports deficiencies in the areas of housekeeping, security, building and property. Completion of maintenance work orders/maintenance requests as assigned. Document actions taken and cost and submit to supervisor. Complete preventative maintenance tasks as directed. Responsible for completion of the monthly preventative maintenance checklist at two locations.Assist Maintenance Supervisor to trouble-shoot HV/AC, plumbing, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic control systems.Snow removal and performs roof and grounds inspection; initiate corrective action.Complete grounds work as directed by Maintenance Supervisor which may include trash pick-up, sweeping, maintaining landscaping beds, lawn mowing and other areas. Assemble and move furniture (all PV facilities/spaces and Sober Housing apartments), as needed. Clean rooms, offices, hallways, group rooms, lounges, stairways, parking lots and other work areas (all PV facilities/spaces & SH apts), as needed. Change filters on heating and air conditioning equipment.Secure all receipts for purchases and turn into supervisor (on weekly basis).With Maintenance Supervisor, obtain competitive prices/bids for supplies and contract work. Provide proper documentation. Purchases in excess of $100 must be pre-approved by supervisor. Demonstrate safety precautions and mature judgment in use of company vehicles, equipment and supplies. Provide maintenance-related feedback to supervisor, Program Managers and Lead CD Tech at each site.Advise supervisor and Program Manager of any unusual events or conditions that may cause disruption, such as energy management system or equipment malfunction.Complete payroll worksheet and mileage reimbursement and submit bi-weekly to supervisor. Understand and follow vulnerable adult policy and reporting procedures.Understand and follow incident/accident reporting policies and procedures.Understand and follow emergency fire and weather policies and procedures.Attend training events and staff meetings as required by your supervisor.Maintain favorable driving record (favorable is left to the interpretation of the employer and any agent acting on behalf of the employer.) Attain, maintain and promote a positive, safe, harmonious, productive and challenging work environment. Maintain a professional and courteous manner with all clients, vendors, contractors, and co-workers. Remain available for off-hour emergency calls (such as fire alarms, snow storms, floods, power failure, etc.) as required.Perform special projects and tasks/duties as assigned by supervisor or management.RequirementsQualifications:High school diploma or GED. Vocational technical training preferred.Minimum of two (2) years facility maintenance experience preferred.Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment.Ability to work independently with little supervision.Ability to relate well to others- accepting difference and relating well to people with diverse backgrounds. Ability to maintain client confidentiality.Ability to push/lift up to 50 lbs. Current two step Mantoux/Tuberculosis Skin Test, TB Gold test, or ability to obtain.Must be able to pass favorable DHS Rule 11 background check. Minimum 1 year free from chemical use problems, if applicable. Valid state driver's license. Positive driving record (periodic review of driving record required). Physical Requirements: Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Ability to push/lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to communicate, converse with and exchange information. Salary Description $19+DOE
