SUMMARY:
The Technical Project Manager of IT Infrastructure & Operations will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering solutions. This role ensures projects are completed within the defined scope, timeline, and budget while meeting quality standards.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Own and deliver project efforts across the full technology stack; projects span datacenter, network, operational, and cloud initiatives.
• Responsible for understanding and translating the technical aspects of the project; keeping a close eye on software design, architecture, and integration points to ensure these technological components align with the project's goals.
• Maintain responsibility for core project team resources, schedule, project deliverables, and prioritization of work tasks.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others.
• Collaborate with department heads and communicate issues, risks, blockers, decisions, and general health of a project or upgrade with necessary stakeholders.
• Meet regularly with stakeholders and generate status reports to define and measure project progress.
• Determine and define clear deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives.
• Plan and facilitate highly complex infrastructure deployments as the service transitions into a live Production environment.
• Support the engineering team through research and evaluation of hardware and software technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis when making large purchases on behalf of the company.
• Predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles, incorporating risk management into the DNA of a project.
• Support the planning of updates and maintenance across multiple Production technologies.
• Ensure proper maintenance and installation steps are identified, documented, coordinated, and communicated.
• Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams.
• Take initiative and act with a sense of proactivity when evaluating scope/technology solutions across the portfolio.
• Manage both onshore and offshore support resources who are assigned project work.
• Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours when necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be required at the discretion of management.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong leadership with ability to motivate and influence a wide variety of teams and technologists.
• Clear communication skills to guide, coordinate, and translate highly complex technical terminologies into business approachable language or value proposition(s).
• Knowledge of infrastructure, software concepts and terminologies with preferred experience/familiarity in object store, S3, Azure, SQL, FTP, Citrix, M365, CICD, and automation.
• Previous experience leading complex technology projects from initiation through closure.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving; adaptability, teamwork, negotiation, and empathy skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience directly related to technical project management.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT related role (IT project manager, release management, engineering coordinator, etc.)
• Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, TOGAF, or similar are a plus.
