About the Team:Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones company, enables stakeholders in the global chemical industry to improve operational efficiency with deep insights, future outlooks, price discovery and consultation from a celebrated team of subject matter experts. We offer short- and long-term market coverage for more than 200 core building-block chemicals with a full suite of advisory services and top-tier events held around the globe. The worldwide chemical industry looks to Chemical Market Analytics to guide decisions and help manage risk across the entire value chain.
About the Role:As a Research Analyst, you will support coverage for the Global C4 and Elastomers markets. You will maintain existing models and systems, develop new research methodologies, support report generation and publication and provide direct client support. Initially, your responsibilities will be internally focused and your client interaction will increase over time. You will report to the Global C4 & Elastomers Service Leader.
You Will:- Regularly contribute to semi-monthly and annual reports on C4 olefin markets which will include coverage of contract prices, margin analysis, supply & demand, and forecasts
- Develop, maintain, and update mathematical models & tools for petrochemical products within the C4 olefin value chain
- Provide client support as needed; particularly when the service leader is unavailable
You Have:- 3-5 years of experience in the chemical industry or a related field is preferred
- Demonstrated experience clearly communicating complex content to technical and non-technical audiences
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Python, SAS, SPSS, R, SQL, Tableau, and PowerBI (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred), Chemistry (preferred), Business, Finance/Accounting, Information Systems Management, Data Science, or a related discipline
