Sr. HR Business Partner Compliance

REPORTS TO: Human Resources Director

HOURS: Full time Exempt position

PAY RANGE: $80,000 - $100,000 Annually

Location: On Site - Seattle

BENEFITS: Medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long term disability insurance and sick leave are available to employees. Employees accrue 116 hours of vacation during the first year and receive 11 paid holidays. (Prorated for part-time employees).

POSITION TYPE: Non-union management position

The Sr. HR Business Partner (HRBP) develops and implements better practices involving management of people. This role builds relationships with business units so that the human resources function is integrated in business operations. The Sr. HRBP focuses primarily on employee relations, grievances, and L&I claims, while providing training and guidance to management to reduce the need for HR intervention. This role works in an internal consultative role to align the human resources function with the broader strategies and objectives of the organization and has working knowledge of both the human resources and operations functions of organization in order to ensure that all areas are represented in business decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on employment issues, initiating new policies and procedures where necessary. Keep up to date on employment law, employment records and governmental reporting, ensuring LIHI's compliance.
  • Manage employee corrective action process, including advising supervisory staff on best practice and LIHI forms and procedure.
  • Conduct investigations by collecting, analyzing and documenting quantitative and qualitative data, researching key business issues, identifying action plans, fully documenting investigative findings, and providing updates and recommendations to HR and business leadership.
  • Communicate regularly regarding pending investigations and provide timely investigation reports with supporting documentation for all completed investigations.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Create and implement strategic action plans to improve team effectiveness, build leader capabilities, and improve the employee experience.
  • Coach business leaders on leadership behaviors and practices, employee communication, development and performance management strategies and tactics to promote a culture of continuous growth and development
  • Oversee and coordinate L&I matters, manage claims, administer light duty back-to-work program, ensure OSHA/WISHA compliance.
  • Responds to inquiries and questions regarding employment issues and the application of organizational policies
  • Serves as a senior member of the Human Resources team; provides support, training, informal coaching and guidance to colleagues on HR Team
  • Assist with succession planning
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related area, and/or appropriate combination of education, training, and experience to ensure on-the-job success.
  • 7 years minimum HR experience.
  • Experience working with HRIS/HRM software for tracking employee data.
  • Demonstrated experience with corrective actions and terminations.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with HR in a housing, homelessness, or other social services provider environment.
  • Familiarity with HR in a union environment.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • SHRM or HCI Certification.
