Rockstar Games is seeking a UX Researcher to support our Publishing arm. This will involve building relationships with, and running UX research for, a large range of stakeholders working in areas including marketing, commerce, online services, customer support, and user generated content. Research needs may sometimes blur the boundary between in-game and out-of-game, so it may sometimes also be required to run studies that cross over with aspects of the game experience.
This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar's NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan.
WHAT WE DO- The Rockstar Games UX Research Team plans, executes, and drives user experience research activities for game and publishing projects across the company.
- We ensure every piece of research yields high quality, actionable data.
- We contribute to the ongoing refinement of UX research at Rockstar, including methodological improvements, process development, and collaboration with other insights teams, such as Analytics and Consumer Insights.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Plan and execute research activities for Rockstar's Publishing teams, including Marketing, Commerce, Online Services, Creator Platform, and Customer Experience.
- Develop close working relationships with members of stakeholder teams and other Insights teams (such as Analytics and Consumer Insights)
- Identify product needs and transform them into research goals.
- Apply a mixed-method approach, harnessing a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods (including interviews, surveys, heuristics, telemetry, descriptive, and inferential statistics) and adapt methodologies based on logistical and product context.
- Understand and provide feedback on research artifacts and prototypes to incorporate them in research activities.
- Generate actionable insights that support product-refining iteration and strategic direction.
- Effectively communicate research insights (verbally and in writing) to a variety of stakeholders with different backgrounds.
- Support creation of research strategies at a product level.
QUALIFICATIONS- Masters or PhD in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in UX research in the games industry.
- Experience collaborating with a variety of product development stakeholders.
- Broad knowledge of video game genres.
SKILLS- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment with the need to manage constant change, and the ability to work through organizational complexity and ambiguity.
- Ability to think strategically and work cross-functionally across local teams to collaborate and create impact on a global scale.
- Ability to present to senior stakeholders and facilitate broader design discussions within the team.
- An empathetic style: an ability to build trusted relationships and achieve consensus and buy-in at all levels of an organization.
- Detail-oriented and highly efficient.
- Self-starter, independent, entrepreneurial spirit.

The pay range for this position in New York State (inclusive of New York City) at the start of employment is expected to be between the range below* per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
