About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Senior Financial Analyst to support the Director of Investments and Analytics. You will gather and analyze data, prepare forecasts, develop financial models, and generate reports. Key tasks include monthly cash flow forecasting, job cost reports, managing equity and investor returns, and automating management reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities and experience in financial modeling and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a consolidated cash flow model from beginning to end of life for all assigned land development, construction, and property management projects.
- Create land and housing financial forecasts, reports, cash flows, and equity investment reports for external and internal stakeholders.
- Maximize profitability and cash flows by analyzing complex project budgets and creating pro forma models.
- Gather historical data and information from company databases and organize/format it in Excel, creating new financial models as needed.
- Drive process improvements, including the creation of ad-hoc and standardized reports.
- Drive improvements to ERP system setup and dashboard development.
- Mentoring/knowledge sharing with colleagues.
About You:
- Post-secondary education in commerce, math, computer science, or engineering.
- CFA or MBA certification is a valuable asset.
- At least 4 years of experience in financial modeling.
- Exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Yardi and/or NewStar ERP systems, and proficiency in SQL and VBA, is advantageous.
- Preferred background in the real estate industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of cost and financial accounting procedures, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capable of meeting tight deadlines while effectively prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
- Ability to manage tight timelines and changing priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
- Highly organized, with the ability to process large volumes of information and effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks.
