Description Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for a
Project Manager who will provide Project Management Services related to Hawaii-based electric utility customer.This is a staff augmentation role that will interface directly with our utility client in the area. You can expect to spend time at our client offices, collaborating with various external stakeholders.
The Project Manager will be part of an established Project Management Office that provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission and distribution, substation and transmission line projects nationwide.
Responsibilities:- Plans, organizes and manages all project tasks associated with design, procurement, construction, testing, placement in operation and closing of projects.
- Manages scope, schedule and costs of projects requiring complex regulatory approvals, land/Right-of-Way acquisition, public relations management, and cross-functional/multi-level (internal) management
- Develops necessary strategies required to meet project goals in alignment with Hawaiian Electric policies and procedures and the HART contracts.
- Thorough knowledge of the applicable HART contracts, including, but not limited to, terms and conditions and milestones dates.
- Serves as focal point for all project related matters.
- Maintains project schedules and costs, and provides updates for any status reports, dashboards or other variance explanations.
- Provides information to PUC, as needed
- Works collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Position is mostly remote in nature but the selected candidate will be expected to travel locally and/or report to customer site as needed to best serve client needs
Experience Requirements- Extensive (8+ years) experience as a project manager, construction manager, designer, or engineer, with large complex projects, preferably within the electric utility industry.
- Several (3-5) years of project management experience for small to large engineering/construction projects.
- Experience with the regulatory, social, public affairs (neighborhood boards, community groups, government agencies, political leaders, media, etc.) processes.
- Several (3-5) years of supervisory experience is desirable.
Knowledge Requirements- Extensive knowledge of project management principles, and engineering and construction practices in the transmission, distribution, substation, and/or generation fields, normally acquired through college-level training and/or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and related software applications such as MS Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from a nationally recognized organization such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), highly desirable but not required
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical branch or certified as a Planner by a nationally recognized professional society such as the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred but not required.

- Ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities and strategic direction. Ability to conceptualize new ideas quickly.

Pay Range: Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
