OverviewThe Manager Rate Systems and Onboarding is part of SCS Operations team and is the subject matter expert in the TMS rate engine. This role is responsible for translating commercial agreements into the rate engine and ensuring rates are maintained and drive efficient operational processes. This role also has responsibilities with new business onboarding, carrier integration, data analytics, and continuous improvement.
ResponsibilitiesTMS rating engine SME
- design and maintain an effective multi-mode transportation rate management strategy
- collaborate with Yusen IT and external software partner(s) to understand high level and detailed TMS rating engine capabilities
- work with pricing, procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure new or updated rate agreements are properly translated into system rate strategy and inputted into the system accordingly.
- ensure rates are entered timely, accurately, and in a manner that enables system driven AP/AR financial estimate calculations
Onboarding
- support or lead end to end client onboarding as needed
- plan and host carrier operations onboarding calls
- ensure carrier facing business processes are established, and the TMS system is properly configured to support it. (load tender, status visibility, invoicing, etc.)
- maintain relationship with motor carriers and operations account owners, ensure process expectations are clear and that carrier key performance metrics are set
Carrier integration
- drive operational strategy for carrier data connectivity - API, EDI, carrier portal, etc. Collaborate with IT, carriers, and other stakeholders to define project and implement improvements
- design strategy for carrier portal use, collaborate with IT user set up, create training materials and provide training as needed
Data Analytics
- measure carrier adherence to agreed process, effectively identify issues, drive improvements, and escalate as appropriate
- understand the system data structure, data sources, and data query/extract/reporting tools. Properly connect data points for business intelligence
- develop and maintain visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards
- drive operational efficiencies through carrier partnerships (carrier portal, EDI, API, third party data integrators, etc....)
- continually review opportunities for improved technologies for future development
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
- 6+ years of experience in supply chain / logistics / transportation required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Self-starter who takes initiative and can work with minimal supervision.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders to deliver improvements and solutions
- Expert Level proficiency with MS Office Excel, knowledge of business intelligence tools
- Knowledgeable on general systems, technical data analysis, software configuration and software testing.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Complex thinking, analysis, and decision making skills.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
