DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES- Ensures instruments are sterilized as soon as feasible when received into central sterilization.Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, dental supplies and equipment, and assembles, wraps and sterilizes trays of Follows proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas.Perform all opening, closing and maintenance procedures as described in sterilization and maintenance policies, as well as other duties as delegated by Lead Dental Assistant.Restock and maintain an inventory of dental supplies and instruments to assure a constant level is always available. Communicate to the Lead Dental Assistant any supplies that need replenishing or replacement.Maintain in/out logs for the dental laboratory orders in a manner that assures completeness and accuracy.Maintain proper pre-set trays and ensure they are ready for anticipated procedures. Proactively review notes in patients' charts to set-up for the planned treatment. Gather and ready all necessary materials and instruments needed for treatment.Prepare operatory for patient reception and assure it is as aseptic as possible for patient welfare.Check and document patient's vital signs and health history in accordance with departmental policies.Enter patient data and dental chart information into Electronic Dental Record (EDR) system in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner.Assist clinical staff in optimizing patient flow. This will include restocking items, seating patients, 'floating', and supporting other dental team members with patient care.Assist the assigned dentist with referrals, and other processes involved in providing high quality dental care.Monitors biological and chemical solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and dental Verifies that equipment functions Maintains a clean work Maintains cleanliness and order of all areas of Performs environmental maintenance duties and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing, the dental treatment rooms, and in equipment storage areas.Keeps accurate logs of spore Restocks, labels, and maintains Uses the system to monitor and track instruments through Keeps the Chief Dental Officer apprised of any issues or concerns with equipment, supplies or procedures related to Meets the needs and special requests of the providers with regard to instruments and hand Maintains familiarity with and complies with OSHA Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team to facilitate the Dental Center's ability to meet goals and Follows the Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Maintains personal growth by attending all meetings and in-services.Participates in CQI activities and staff Utilizes effective means to resolve Utilizes effective verbal and written communication May be required to participate in departmental and organizational quality improvement projects.Other related duties as assigned by Chief Dental Officer.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES-Maintains a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers, the public, patients, and all NSCHC staff, Board of Directors and Must be accurate and detail-orientedMust be receptive to training and have the ability to retain information of the assigned duties and responsibilities.Strives to learn more and is receptive to learning different ways of doing things.Demonstrates the ability to understand the overall purpose of clinical care and importance of support staff.Able to demonstrate judgment, patience, integrity, organization, and prioritization in multi-task environment.Ability to multitask and follow directions in fast paced clinic environment.
