This role will also be responsible for working directly with buyers and supply chain personnel to ensure proper material are available. The complexity of this job requires the ability to resolve problems that of a technical or logistical nature and to recommend and facilitate change, while collaborating with a wide spectrum of personnel in varying disciplines and backgrounds.Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Performs planning function in accordance with GT global and plant standards.Utilizes MRP reports to review new order requirements and stock availability. Works closely with Manufacturing and other site personnel to ensure information and accurate production plans are established and executed.Reviews open work orders to ensure execution to plan. Works closely with buyers to ensure material availability. Follows up with lab and engineering personnel as to disposition of NCR or MRB materials in a timely fashion.Liaises with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing and other planners to estimate lead-time based on delivery requirements and to ensure on time delivery. Identifies issues affecting delivery dates and advises Sales, Customer Service, and/or other planners as required.Assist in quoting lead times on new part number items based on capacity, equipment capabilities, raw or intermediate inventories, and tooling. Makes recommendations for lot sizing, and other master data related to material masters and routers as required.Uses capacity planning tools paired with contractual obligations and current inventories. Identifies patterns or future capacity constraints that affect manufacturing. Performs analysis regarding capacity management and pro-actively manages capacity constraints. Makes recommendations as to necessary overtime, material or work center substitutions as part of capacity planning required to meet on time delivery.Works on continuous improvement projects that are self-directed.Support Planning tools for short-term requirements (SAP Finite Scheduling, SAP Exception Message Management), inventory management/optimization, and MRP software (SAP ECC)Required Minimum QualificationsEducation/Certifications: High School or equivalent is required; Associates degree preferredSkills and Experience: Required:Basic computer skills using MS Office, especially WORD and EXCELAbility to plan and operate with minimal supervisionExcellent interpersonal and communication skills are requiredAbility to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced and dynamically changing environmentDisplay ownership and urgency for their assigned product lineThe ability to manage conflict with a diverse set of personalities and culturesA minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environmentDemonstrated skills related to logic and/or math-based analysis are requiredPreferred:A minimum of three years capacity planning experience is desiredA solid knowledge of SAP, master data, and capacity planningJob Environment:Physical Requirements: Standing Occasionally (16-45%) Sitting Frequently (46-100%) Lifting Up to 10lbs without assistance Carrying Up to 10lbs without assistance Walking Occasionally (16-45%) Hearing Ability to detect noises with or without corrective device(s) Vision Clarity of vision, with or without corrective lensesMental Requirements: Problem Solving Frequently (46-100%) Making Decisions Ability to make decisions that have a moderate impact Supervise Rarely (0-15%) Interpret Data Frequently (46-100%) Organize Frequently (46-100%) Read/Write Frequently (46-100%) Communication Frequently (46-100%)Work Environment High Temperatures Rarely (0-15%) Low Temperatures Rarely (0-15%) Noises Loud (manufacturing environment, movement of large equipment) Fumes Exposure Occasionally (16-45%)Note: This Job Description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
