Job Summary This position allows you to work from home.
Now, if you were to come on board as one of our People Advisors, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
Respond primarily by email to inquiries from managers and associates regarding employee relations matters by: Interpreting and explaining company policies, procedures, practices, and programs.
Advising and assisting managers, supervisors, associates on the interpretation and application of the provincial employment legislations.
Providing advice and guidance to managers and associates for unionized locations.
Providing guidance to managers in handling employee relations issues and in resolving complaints or disputes.
Investigate issues and provide resolution on the following: Complaints about working conditions
Disciplinary actions
Discrimination allegations, or other HR related matters.
Perform administrative tasks, such as preparing disciplines, terminations and other letters/memos as required by operations.
Work on special projects, such as drafting or updating policy and processes both independently and as part of a team.

Minimum two years of experience as an HR Generalist/Specialist/Advisor within a large company, preferably with exposure to unionized associates and collective agreements.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field.
Advanced computer skills including ability to perform HRIS queries (i.e. JD Edwards, SAP), generate reports, perform web-based research, and create case management files in HR ticketing software (i.e. Remedy).
Knowledge of employment labor law in multiple provinces is an asset.
Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Readily adaptable to changing work priorities.
Ability to de-escalate situations and handle difficult conversations.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate versatility, flexibility, and an enthusiasm about working with constantly changing priorities.
