The DevOps Engineer role is crucial at Aimsio. Our DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our product, ensuring seamless integration and deployment, and maintaining a high level of system reliability. They play a pivotal role in automating processes, enhancing system performance, and ensuring a seamless deployment pipeline.
The ideal candidate will balance automation efforts, manage cloud infrastructure, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines. Success in this role is measured by system uptime, the efficiency of deployment processes, and the overall reliability, security, and scalability of our infrastructure.
As the DevOps Engineer at Aimsio, you will be implementing new ways to improve our infrastructure. You will lead initiatives to enhance security and reliability of the system. You will be required to keep up to date with latest new technologies and bring ideas on how to improve the status quo.

Responsibilities: how will you make a contribution?
Plan, optimize, and maintain Aimsio’s AWS infrastructure, including EC2, RDS, and ECS.
Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure, including backups and access control.
Upgrade instances as required and manage AWS users, roles, and access controls.
Design and deploy infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines for consistent, reliable, and stable testing and deployments.
Manage Jenkins and other CI environments, enhancing automated deployment processes.
Perform regular deployment of web applications to AWS and oversee the configuration of Bitbucket.
Implement and enhance monitoring and instrumentation using Datadog or similar platforms.
Monitor cloud analytics and logs to identify and address potential issues.
Notify the development team about urgent issues and recommend improvements based on monitoring data.
Analyze and report production incidents, providing recommendations to mitigate future occurrences.
Design and implement infrastructure for deploying ECS-based applications.
Monitor application performance and optimize dev tools accordingly.
Stay updated on the latest technologies to continually improve DevOps processes.
Guarantee segregation of duties in code management and release cycles, ensuring compliance with S.O.C. controls.
Occasionally work off-hours to handle critical deployments or incidents, with time off in lieu provided.
Collaborate closely with team members, providing fresh perspectives and innovative solutions.
Qualifications: do you have what it takes?
Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
Strong knowledge and experience with AWS services, including EC2, EBS, RDS, and ECS.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for automated infrastructure management.
Proven experience managing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) environments for web and mobile applications.
Expertise in using CI tools such as Jenkins and Circle CI, with a focus on improving automated deployment processes.
Experience managing infrastructure for Java-based web applications and services.
Solid understanding of networking, protocols, and security practices.
Familiarity with microservice architecture and Git version control system.
Proficient in scripting languages commonly used in DevOps automation, such as Python, PowerShell, and shell scripting.
Familiarity with the automatic deployment of mobile applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store is a plus.
Competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $150,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Location
Aimsio is Remote First which means we're flexible about where you live. However, we can currently only consider candidates who are legally able to work for us in Canada. Our 'home cities' are Calgary, Toronto, and Vancouver, so if you live elsewhere, at very least you should expect occasional flights to our home cities in the future for team-building events (we can't wait!).
