Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Provide mobility assistance by helping patients move in and out of beds, chairs, and wheelchairs. Turn and position bedridden patients to prevent pressure ulcers. Medical Support: Take and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. Assist with basic medical procedures as directed by nurses and physicians. Collect specimens for medical tests. Safety and Comfort: Monitor and report any changes in patients' health status to the nursing staff. Ensure patients' rooms are clean, orderly, and safe. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient care, activities, and observations. Ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with Schoellkopf Health Center's policies and procedures. Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Report concerns or changes in patient conditions promptly to the nursing staff. Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures. Follow Schoellkopf Health Center's policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a state-approved CNA training program. Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in New York State. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Physical ability to perform job-related tasks, including lifting and moving patients. Work Environment: Work is performed in a healthcare setting with exposure to various medical conditions. Requires standing, walking, and moving patients for extended periods. May involve working shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
