This is a General Foremen position responsible for leading multiple crews which are typically large in nature. The General Foreman will be the leader in the field and will meet often with the General Contractors (GC) and Owners and ensure that B&K surpasses all expectations. All candidates must meet the following expectations and be able to work independently with minimal oversight.nnJob Responsibilities/Accountabilities:nnHas a thorough working knowledge of mechanical construction and installation.nnLearns and actively participates in all aspects of the company’s safety culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.nnWorks with tools to complete specific assigned tasks on a project.nnTracks and reports units and labor hours, including filling out and submitting timecards.nnMaintains proper care and the appropriate number of tools and equipment necessary to support productions specific to a project.nnLeads and monitors safety and security procedures within the crew.nnUnderstands and achieves crew production goals.nnEstablishes crew sizes that align with production goals.nnDocuments key information such as activities, productions, and crew sizes.nnCommunicates with suppliers and coordinates delivery of supplies to jobsite.nnUnderstands and maintains established quality levels associated with duties.nnCoordinates other trade work associated with the assigned scope of work.nnParticipates in all safety activities such as toolbox talks, job hazard analysis.nnReads and understands plans, specifications, shop drawings and coordination drawings.nnProvides on-the-job guidance and willingly shares subject matter expertise in order to support team member learning and development.nnCoordinates inspections for assigned scope of work.nnParticipates in, documents and updates punch lists.nnManage field crew in day to day production of projectsnnInterpret blueprints/plans and construct accordinglynnProvide leadership to others through examplennIn Addition to the core Foreman responsibilities:nnManages subcontractor crews for portions of projects or a small project.nnLeads the development of the project schedule with the Project Manager and ensures the team is executing to the plan.nnTrains Foremen on pre-planning, plan reading, productivity, efficiency, economical crew size, quality workmanship, and safety to ensure projects are expeditiously and profitably constructed.nnCreates, communicates, monitors, and achieves crew production goals.nnCoordinates work for larger crews and/or other trade foremen; may include responsibilities for multiple crews.nnCoordinates preplanning activities for project components such as crew size, schedule, materials, materials, meetings, and manpower.nnCoordinates usage of all aspects of construction project resources, including internal and external support.nnCreates and implements safety plans and ensures compliance through use of training, toolbox talks and communication with safety representatives.nnControls costs in production units through understanding multiple variables, such as the project management system, task specific reports, production, and costs for assigned responsibilities.nnSupports project quality assurance/quality control planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks.nnSupervisory / Budgetary / External Communications ResponsibilitynnDirect responsibility for leading a construction crew(s)nnOversight for SubcontractorsnnKnowledge, skill and ability requirements (minimum competencies required for job performance)nnAbility to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.nnCommunication skills, verbal and written (Intermediate).nnProficiency in MS Office.nnKnowledge of organizational structure and available resources.nnAbility to apply Lean process and philosophy.nnKnowledge of self-perform and labor productivity.nnKnowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.nnKnowledge of the means and methods of construction management.nnKnowledge of layout skill (Intermediate).nnKnowledge of crane flagging and rigging (Intermediate).nnAbility to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.nnAcquire knowledge of productivity rates.nnAbility to assess and optimize project productivity.nnAbility to lead crews and achieve production goals.nnAbility to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally.nnPrior work experience and educational requirementsnnHigh School Diploma or GEDnnVocational/Technical degree in related field (Preferred)nn5-7 Years in commercial constructionnnMinimum of 3 years in field supervisionnnValid driver's licensennPhysical DemandsnnThe physical demands are those associated with working in the fieldnnAbility to lift 50 lbs. when necessary during the course of performing their necessary duties.nnWork outside during all types of weathernnNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
