The position is located at the El Segundo DMV Dri ver Safety Office (DSO).
Under the direction of the Manager I, the incumbent responds to requests for information and solves problems posed by the public, law enforcement and other governmental agencies by phone, correspondence, and in-person; updates, reviews and analyzes driving records utilizing the Driver Safety Case Management System; furnishes the public with and explains the use of forms issued by the Department; inspects documents for authenticity, signatures and completeness; interprets, applies and explains the provisions of the Vehicle Code, administrative regulations, policies, procedures, and other applicable laws to the public, law enforcement, and others; schedules hearings and interviews as requested by drivers or their representatives; schedules reexaminations as requested by Driver Safety Officers or other professional staff; creates case files, issues subpoenas, and responds to requests for discovery; assists as necessary with correspondence, filing, and phones.
This Limited Term position may be extended to 24 months and may become Permanent.

The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment. Salaries are non-negotiable and are subject to the California Department of Human Resources salary rules. Salaries for part-time and/or intermittent appointments may vary. Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.
