Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report .nnProject Overview:nnBechtel is seeking to expand its decades long relationship with Reliance by providing Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of existing petrochemical facilities in India. Reliance plans to augment its existing petrochemical facilities in Dahej, Gujarat, and Nagothane, Maharashtra, to expand its PVC capacity. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel’s India offices.nnThe positions will be based out of Nagothane, India.nnJob Summary:nnResponsible for the organization and activities relating to Civil construction engineering, subcontracts, and engineering liaison to the design functional group. Interprets design drawings and specifications. Supervises field verification of materials. Provides technical direction to contractors in construction engineering and design functions relating to civil engineering in an area of the project.nnMajor Responsibilities:nnSupport the development of the construction engineering organization for approval by the Site Manager (or appropriate level of Project Management) and preparation of employee requisitions.nnCoordinates with engineering on constructability and design issues and monitors the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the project controls program at the jobsite.nnEstablishes a Design/Field Engineering working relationship and lines of communication with the Project Field Engineer/Area Field Engineer including agreement on engineering deliverables.nnResponsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting, and ensures the implementation of project environmental control plan(s) as required.nnSupport as required the design of temporary construction facilities, preparation of cost estimates for construction activities and coordinates the preparation of cost reports, forecast and progress reports.nnReviews and provides input to project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule, and material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.nnDevelops project construction procedures.nnPlans and recommends procedures to be implemented by construction contractors to ensure construction operations are within requirements of engineering design and specifications.nnMaintenance of construction engineering records for job history. Supervises the receiving, distribution and filing of plans and specifications.nnWorks with customer's resident engineering and operating personnel to coordinate construction activities.nnImplements controls over variables affecting job progress to ensure engineering and procurement provide timely delivery of drawings, materials, and equipment and to ensure that other corporate programs are fully utilized.nnCoordinates with the Area Field Engineer/Project Field Engineer for any work related to contract administration and activities affecting the contract administration operation.nnPerforms employee reviews for subordinate personnel, assists in their development and ensures that subordinate personnel receive progressive training.nnProvides input to the project staffing plan for construction engineers and associated personnel.nnEducation and Experience Requirements:nnA recognized degree in Civil engineering or scientific discipline. Actual work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the technical knowledge described above. Experience required for this role is minimum 20 years (20 years for grade 27, 15 years for grade 26)nnRequired Knowledge and Skills:nnTechnical knowledge of all phases of civil/concrete/structural construction engineering relating to a single or multiple area.nnThorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.nnExperience in inspection and certifying civil/concrete/structure installation by contractors.nnExperience in Brown Field works & deep excavations.nnKnowledge of Indian standards and specification and codes as applicable, including various safety procedures and practices associated with the construction activities.nnFamiliar with Bechtel's Business Ethics handbook and policies.nnKnowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.nnKnowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.nnKnowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" safety program.nnKnowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.nnPrior experience supervising and administering subcontractors.nnTotal Rewards/BenefitsnnFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
