Located in our Springfield, IL facility and reporting to the Service Manager, the HVAC/R Service Technician will service, install, maintain, air conditioning & refrigeration systems. Applied HVAC/R Technician performs tests and analysis of data to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and provide recommendations to customers as appropriate.
Responsibilities: - Evaluate and troubleshoot the condition of operating equipment and controls to ensure continued proper & safe operation.
- Perform routine repairs.
- Inspect and test systems operations.
- Determine customer concerns with their current applied HVAC/R systems.
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
- Discuss mechanical malfunctions with customers.
- Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
- Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricate parts, or changing filters.
- Assist with other work in coordination with repair and maintenance teams.
- Install, connect components related to our industry.
- Generate work orders that address deficiencies in need of correction.
- Assemble, position, install HVAC equipment, following blueprints.
Qualifications: - High School diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of HVAC level at maintenance & repair experience in the HVAC/R and refrigeration trade.

This position is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.
Work Environment This job operates in both an office and a field environment. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
