CEI Inspector - Fort Myers, FL Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking a

Summary The CEI Inspector is responsible for the monitoring daily activities of asphalt, concrete, and earthwork for conformance of client/contractor work on various projects to ensure materials meet specifications. Position will perform engineering inspections activities such as construction observation and field sampling of asphalt, concrete, and earthwork for construction application. The inspector will record daily notes for the engineering staff.
Responsibilities - Responsible for familiarity with the Department's Procedures covering the project related duties as stated above and proficient in the computer programs necessary to perform those duties.
- Responsible for receiving general supervision from and assisting the Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties.
Education and Experience Requirements - High school graduate or equivalent required.
- EIT with a degree in engineering, engineering technology, and construction management desired. (EIT must obtain the required qualifications and certifications within one year)
- Two years of experience in construction inspection with a minimum of one year of bridge and/or roadway construction experience desired.
- Must have the following as required by the scope of work for the intended assignment on the project at the time of NTP:
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection - required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structure foundations
- IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
- FDOT Intermediate MOT
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
- Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors.
Physical Demands This position requires minimal lifting of up to 50 pounds sometimes on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to travel and tour work sites under adverse environmental conditions not limited to loud noise levels, high dust and dirt, and extreme temperature. The employee must be able to visually examine construction materials and finished structures and work in various types of weather and field conditions, including heights, uneven terrain, highway traffic, hazards of highway construction sites and heavy equipment.
Expected Hours of Work This position is full-time (40 hours per week). Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing one unpaid hour for lunch each day. While overtime is generally not anticipated, occasional projects or deadlines may necessitate additional hours, compensated according to company policy. Flexible schedules may be available with prior approval from the immediate supervisor. Work schedules may vary based on project demands.

Pay Range: $18 - $28 per hour
