Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC, a world class supplier of power generation services, parts, and repairs, has an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has a desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work.
Inspect machined parts and assemblies at various stages of the process as required to ensure conformance to specifications and formally document and report findings. Thoroughly understand and interpret DWG's and technical data to accurately inspect or provide instruction to others for inspection of manufactured products. Have a full understanding of inspection tools and their appropriate use for inspection features and related tolerances.
Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Read blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information, such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.
- apable of performing all inspection procedures necessary to assure the accuracy and quality of manufacturing all product lines.
- Calculate and measure dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of math and instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
- Maintain all inspection records and reports
- Issue and fill out inspection reports
- Issue and fill out NCR's
- Perform and review In-process and L/O inspections
- Perform and review Final inspections
- Communicate with internal shop and engineering personnel (as needed) for any quality issues
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment.
- Support other areas of the shop as needed.
- Provide guidance and training to inspection support personnel.
- Support the implementation and support for new inspection tools and equipment.
- Support the programming and training for CMM/Inspection Arm inspections.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience with fasteners and threaded components
- 10+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments to ensure efficiency within the inspection area.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in written form in a clear and concise manner to achieve intended objective.
- Ability to read, use and train others on related quality control tools such as: CMM/Inspection Arm, Vernier/calipers, Micrometers, Indicators, and any other inspection tools used for product in the MA-Shop.
- Good organizational skills.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts, 6S and safety in a manufacturing environment
- Good computer skills, ability to navigate and utilize Excel Spreadsheets and Word Documents for communicating and providing product inspection data.
