OVERVIEW:
As a Pump Mechanic with KSB, you will disassemble, clean, and inspect various pumps, including horizontal multi-stage pumps, single-stage pumps, overhung pumps, and vertical pumps. Additionally, you will diagnose pump faults, reassemble the pumps, and complete the accompanying documentation for the repairs. Your primary objective is to consistently support KSB's goal to "exceed customer expectations."
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work scopes
- Disassemble, clean, and inspect API pumps (DCI). Troubleshoot and reassemble
- Complete documentation such as "As Found/As Built" reports, including photos, dimensional data, and dispositioning
- Use micrometers, bore gauges, veneer calipers, and dial indicators
- Perform shaft alignments using laser alignment systems and balance impellers.
- Sharpen tools
- Work from prints, process sheets, and written or verbal instructions to tolerances of .0005"
- Handle all metallic and non-metallic materials
- Work with minimal supervision
- Follow routine procedures
- Use complex equipment requiring continuous attention
- Make minor decisions independently
- Be available for overtime, call-ins, etc., as needed to meet customer requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: - High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of experience in a centrifugal pump repair shop or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong multitasking abilities
- Analytical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to stand continuously and lift up to 60 pounds
- Frequently bend, squat, twist and turn throughout the day
TRAVEL: - Must be available a minimum of 15% traveling, travel is based on customer field service needs
