About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Pump Mechanic to join our team in the Retail Trade industry. As a Pump Mechanic, you will be responsible for estimating and repairing all manner of pumps, gearboxes, and other related equipment. Your main goal will be to ensure that all equipment is repaired safely, properly, and in a timely manner. You will work closely with other members of the team to troubleshoot and diagnose issues and develop and implement solutions to provide thorough repairs and prevent future problems.
Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in pump or mechanical maintenance and repair
• Knowledge of pumping systems and components
• Experience with rigging and overhead cranes
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in pump and/or mechanical maintenance and repair
• Experience with bearings, seals, gear units, and gaskets
• Experience working in a machine shop environment

Responsibilities:

• Perform complete repair/refurbishment on pumps and gearboxes.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues
• Repair or replace faulty components
• Collaborate with other maintenance team members to develop and implement efficient work practices.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed. Prepare customer repair reports and estimates.

Skills:
As a Pump Mechanic, you will utilize your expertise in pumps and gear units to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and efficiently before delivery to the customer. You will also use your knowledge of rigging and overhead cranes to safely move and position equipment. Additionally, you will read and interpret technical manuals and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment issues. Knowledge and use/function of specialty hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, wire wheels, fork truck, overhead cranes, and other assorted equipment is a must. Experience in a machine shop environment will allow you to fabricate and repair components as needed.
