The Cook will prepare food in accordance with applicable standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times. In order to be successful in this role, you should be able to manage the kitchen to deliver quality food on time. It is up to the lead cook to guarantee all plates are properly cooked and served so our guests have a pleasant dining experience. Hours range from 6am- 12pm and 4:30PM-1030PM, this is a full time position guaranteeing 40 hours which means somedays will be double shifts.. Flexible days of the week although Weekend and Holiday availability is required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Produces dinner orders
- Uses the kitchen manual regarding recipe and all preparation methods.
- Demonstrates safe and proper use of equipment at all times. Perform duties in a safe manner
- Reduce and keep waste to a minimum.
- Practice basic sanitation, stock rotation and refrigerator cleanliness; keep all work areas clean and tidy according to state and federal guidelines .
- Demonstrate proper production of food items, working efficiently to achieve maximum productivity. Prepare cold food items while adhering to recipe file. Monitoring taste and visual appearance
- Label, date, store and rotate all products while maintaining assigned stock levels. Control food items requested, ensuring stock is maintained without over production.
- Notify Manager of needed products
- Cook or otherwise prepare food according to recipe.
- Oversees portion control and presentation of meals
- Maintain a positive, clean, and professional work environment
