Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Facility Maintenance Technician with a strong electrical background to join our facilities management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all facility systems, ensuring a safe and efficient environment. This role requires expertise in electrical systems, along with general maintenance skills.
Key Responsibilities: - Electrical Maintenance: Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, outlets, and circuit breakers.
- General Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with local, state, and federal codes and safety regulations.
- Facility Upgrades: Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems, including upgrades to electrical infrastructure as needed.
- Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ordering parts as necessary to complete repairs.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, and report on findings to the Facilities Manager.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff and contractors to coordinate larger repair projects and ensure smooth operations.
- Training and Mentoring: Assist in training junior maintenance staff in electrical systems and maintenance procedures as needed.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in electrical systems or facility maintenance is preferred.
- Valid electrical license or certification is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in facility maintenance
- Proficient in using hand and power tools related to maintenance and repair tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Skills: - Experience with HVAC systems, plumbing, and general facility maintenance.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks as needed.
