Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Computational Biology to lead our cutting-edge research and development efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and vision for computational biology initiatives with a specific focus on diagnostic applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align computational biology efforts with organizational goals and objectives.
- Research and Development: Lead computational biology research efforts to develop novel algorithms, models, and methodologies for diagnostic applications. Apply advanced statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to analyze complex biological data sets and identify biomarkers for disease diagnosis.
- Collaboration: Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including bioinformaticians, biologists, clinicians, and external partners. Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate computational biology approaches into diagnostic development workflows.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing team of computational biologists, bioinformaticians, and data scientists. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong experience in industry or academia with previous leadership experience
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in computational biology, such as Python/R. Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and data visualization methods.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving projects from conception to completion.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
