Consilio's client is seeking an experienced Commercial Bankruptcy Attorney to represent creditors, debtors, and trustees in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings. This role offers the opportunity to handle complex cases in a dynamic legal environment, with the possibility of long-term employment. While the attorney can work remotely most days, court appearances will be required, so the attorney must be local to San Diego.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings.
- Litigate adversary proceedings, including preference and fraudulent transfer claims, as well as nondischargeability claims in bankruptcy court.
- Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents related to bankruptcy and business litigation.
- Advise and negotiate on behalf of clients regarding debtor/creditor relationships, out-of-court dissolutions, and debt restructuring.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex bankruptcy and commercial litigation issues.
- Attend hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations as necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues and staff to develop effective case strategies and deliver high-quality client service.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial bankruptcy law.
- Strong knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, including Chapters 7, 11, and 13.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional client service skills with effective communication capabilities.

Additional Details:
- Full-time position (40 hours per week).
- Remote work is acceptable; however, onsite court appearances (2-6 times per month) are required.
- This is a long-term ongoing opportunity, with the client’s goal of converting to a permanent position.
