Associate General Counsel, Real Estate - Investment Manager

We are seeking a talented attorney to join a prominent investment management firm based in Dallas, specializing in commercial real estate. This role is crucial for overseeing the legal aspects of financing transactions and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The attorney will provide expert legal support in loan modifications, restructurings, and contract negotiations, as well as offer guidance on corporate financing matters. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in safeguarding the firm's interests and contributing to its strategic objectives within a dynamic and evolving legal landscape. This position offers an opportunity to engage deeply with complex legal issues in the commercial real estate sector.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee external legal counsel and support all legal aspects of financing transactions related to commercial real estate activities, including lending and investment operations.
  • Assist with loan modifications, restructurings, and management of loan portfolios.
  • Provide guidance on corporate financing matters and related agreements.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review a variety of commercial contracts, including leases.
  • Analyze and advise on regulatory matters, including licensing requirements.
  • Stay informed on trends and practices related to legal issues and documentation relevant to the business.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate policies and initiatives.
  • Perform additional projects and tasks as required.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience at a reputable law firm or in a sophisticated in-house environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate financing and related legal practices.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and licensing requirements in the real estate sector.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
