Our client, a leading global pharmaceutical company known for groundbreaking drug development, life-saving vaccines, and animal-health products, is seeking a Research Scientist to join their South San Francisco-based Anatomic Pathology team.
Pay: $70-$85/hr
Responsibilities:
- Preprocess digital pathology images following SOPs, including metadata extraction, quality control, and secure cloud transfer.
- Support discovery and translational research by refining image analysis algorithms for tasks like cell segmentation and tissue classification.
- Facilitate data and image transfer, ensuring collaboration between teams.
- Collaborate with IT to gather user feedback, address pain points, and enhance analysis tools.
- Lead user experience testing, implement improvements, and optimize tools for production.
- Maintain image analysis systems for peak performance.
- Manage image processing SOPs, reagent orders, and equipment purchases.
- Work effectively with scientists and IT professionals.
Requirements:
- Education/Experience: B.S. with 5+ years, M.S. with 3+ years, or Ph.D. with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Skills: Proficient in digital image analysis software (e.g., HALO, QuPath), spatial imaging platforms, and digital slide scanning.
Preferred Skills:
- Programming experience (Python, MATLAB) and familiarity with version control (e.g., Git).
- Experience in immunohistochemistry, cloud computing, Linux clusters, and oncology or immunology.
