About the Role
As a Senior Research Associate reporting into the Genomics Group, you will advance our genetic medicine technologies, enabling the discovery and development of new therapeutics. Working with a diverse team of cell biologists, protein and RNA engineers, computational scientists, molecular biologists, and translational biologists, you will:
• Conduct high-throughput processing of library prep samples for various sequencing methods, including Illumina NGS amplicon sequencing, ONT long read sequencing, methylation sequencing, enrichment-based sequencing, whole genome sequencing, and other innovative techniques.
• Extract genomic DNA from diverse cell types utilizing liquid handling robots to ensure precision and efficiency.
• Run QC samples through plate reader-based quantification, TapeStation, and qPCR
• Test, refine, and enhance existing SOPs to improve reliability and performance.
• Contribute to the development of novel methods aimed at unlocking previously unexplored regions of the genome.
• Serve as an expert in NGS sequencing and related workflows, always staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field.
Requirements
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree with a minimum of three years of experience owning NGS sequencing and the instrumentation and systems required to support it.
• A strong understanding of molecular biology fundamentals and best practices. • Familiarity with the setup and configuring of automation systems.
• A creative thinker with a track record of high-quality and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
• Deep experience with Illumina NGS sequencing, including full library preparation and related workflows.
• Experience with Oxford Nanopore long read sequencing assays.
• Hands-on experience with liquid handling robots and expertise in developing and optimizing new protocols.
• Strong knowledge of DNA and RNA extraction methods across various sample types.
• Ability to conceptualize and implement workflows in a high-throughput environment, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
• Proficiency in designing, testing, and training others on new SOPs to enhance laboratory operations.
• Competence in data analysis using tools such as R, Python, Prism, and other relevant software
