Staffing Network has partnered with a well known food manufacturer of salty snacks seeking a Maintenance and Reliability Manager for a direct hire opportunity in the Dallas Area.
Role Summary: The Maintenance and Reliability Manager is a critical plant role responsible to the head of manufacturing operations for ensuring outstanding functional performance across a wide range of responsibilities. This leader must be collaborative, cross-functional, and driven to deliver results that maximize personnel and food safety, as well as plant efficiency. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership with a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all maintenance purchasing employees while optimizing for critical parts availability in accordance with lead time and/or availability requirements.
- Develop equipment PMs to minimize mechanical downtime and ensure optimal performance across food safety and other regulatory requirements.
- Determine and utilize appropriate KPIs to track electrical and mechanical performance in accordance with machine PM requirements as recommended by equipment manufacturers.
- Utilize plant escalation protocols to ensure timely completion of necessary repairs as required in a 24-7 manufacturing environment.
- Manage a highly skilled and motivated maintenance team while advancing skills and expertise in accordance with overall company strategy.
- Work alongside food manufacturing professionals to deliver best in class performance while ensuring exceptional safety, food safety, quality, delivery, and cost results.
- Maintain strict adherence with OSHA regulations such as but not limited to: LOTO, confined space, hot work, etc.
- Ensure adherence across all of maintenance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements while ensuring proper record keeping.
- Maintain a strong comprehension of Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards.
- Oversee the plant Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in accordance with record keeping best practices.
- Collaborate with leaders across the plant to adhere to environmental regulatory requirements. Conduct training as needed and develop strategies to maximize overall compliance.
- Lead asset management and equipment maintenance initiatives to maximize the lifespan of critical plant equipment.
- Utilize predictive maintenance practices to manage equipment breakdown risk resulting in minimal unplanned downtime events.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and reliability of all production equipment and machinery.
- Manage the plant wastewater system and coordinate with other plant leaders to ensure regulatory compliance.
Experience & Education Required:
- Minimum of 15 years in a maintenance capacity with a solid grasp on asset reliability best practices, methods, and strategies.
- At least 7 years working in a maintenance leadership capacity.
- Consistent record of utilizing equipment manufacturer recommendations to schedule, oversee, and complete PMs as needed.
- Ability to develop all encompassing capital project submissions which clearly articulate ROI, KPI impact, and project management principles.
- Strong continuous improvement background.
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
Knowledge & Skills – Required:
- Troubleshooting PLC systems.
- Proficiency maintaining boilers, heat exchangers, heavy equipment, and automation.
- Experience with wastewater management both in terms of system use and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with applicable precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and other relevant technical documents.
- Food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Use of automated scale and packaging systems.
- Experience with robotic palletizing systems.
- Strong grasp of industry-specific regulations and standards.
- CAD experience is a plus.
