We are seeking a Buyer/Planner for our manufacturing client located in the Kent, Ohio area. In this role, the Buyer/Planner is responsible for coordinating purchasing and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies. The ideal candidate will ensure quality, price, delivery, and service while minimizing overstock inventory. This role involves vendor management, procurement reporting, and order management to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute procurement activities, establish order quantities, and maintain stock levels.
- Evaluate vendor quotations, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to quality and timelines.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to review specifications and recommend alternatives.
- Monitor procurement systems and lead vendor score carding.
- Prepare purchase orders, track deliveries, and address potential delays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or 1-2 years of experience in purchasing or planning.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in procurement software and systems.
