AFA is an organization comprised of farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural enterprises who wish to be represented and have a voice in shaping the future of farming. We seek to spearhead initiatives of genuine interest to producers that cross commodity boundaries.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
We are looking for a Forward Thinking Leader with a Passion for the Agriculture Industry!
This is a remote position which can be located anywhere within the province but will require a number of meetings in both Edmonton and Calgary.
Responsibilities:
Act as the face and voice for the Members of the Organization.
Champion and advocate on behalf of the Organization at the Provincial and National Level.
Build and foster strong relationships with the Members, Government, and other Industry Representatives.
Lean on the Members of the Organization, as experts in their industries, to provide information critical to the decision-making for the Organization.
Assess the Member’s current view of the Organization and determine the changing needs and conditions of the community that AFA serves.
Work with the Board to set specific goals and outcomes and take the necessary steps to bring them to fruition.
Enhance AFA’s reputation as a leading organization by taking an innovative approach toward improved programs, fund acquisition, and increased online presence.
Provide support to the Board, including reporting and preparation of information for meetings.
Manage day-to-day operations of the Organization.
Understanding of and adherence to the principles of good governance.
Requirements:
Passion for Agriculture with a desire to contribute to the success of the Ag Industry in Alberta.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly motivated and energetic toward implementation of new ideas and programs.
Strong financial background and experience with finding new revenue streams.
Collaborative leadership style with a progressive nature.
Excellent computer competency with the ability to create marketing materials, send surveys, track financial data, etc.
Ability to create and manage accounts on various Social Media Platforms.
Ability to be self-motivated while working from a Home-Based Office.
Travel required both on a Provincial and National level.
Combination of Post-Secondary Education and Experience.
