Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 / year
Description
All Animal Hospital is a well-established, growing 3-4 doctor General Practice (GP) veterinary clinic located in Tupelo, MS . We proudly offer a range of services, including preventive care, diagnostics, surgeries, and boarding for pets in our community. As we continue to expand and undergo renovations to meet the growing needs of our clients and their pets, we are looking for an experienced Practice Manager to help lead and manage our team through this exciting transition.
Our goal is to create a positive, compassionate environment for both our clients and our staff, ensuring the highest quality care for pets and their families. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for veterinary medicine and practice management to make a significant impact.
As the Practice Manager , you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our veterinary hospital, ensuring smooth and efficient operations while providing exceptional service to our clients and pets. You will play a key leadership role in managing a dynamic team of veterinary professionals, including doctors, technicians, receptionists, and support staff. You will also work closely with the ownership group to implement strategies for growth, client satisfaction, and hospital improvements.
This role requires a strong working knowledge of veterinary medicine , hospital operations , and team leadership . Your ability to prioritize, stay organized, and keep a calm and positive demeanor under pressure will be essential to your success in this fast-paced, busy hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management:
  • Lead and supervise a team of veterinarians, technicians, receptionists, and support staff.
  • Schedule staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage for all hospital areas (patient care, front desk, boarding, etc.).
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and client-centered work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching, training, and support for professional development.
  • Coordinate staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education opportunities.
Hospital Operations:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, including patient flow, inventory management, and facility maintenance.
  • Ensure all aspects of the hospital are functioning efficiently and within budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including OSHA, DEA, and veterinary practice standards.
  • Coordinate hospital expansion and renovation efforts, working with contractors, staff, and management to minimize disruption and ensure a smooth transition.
Client Relations & Customer Service:
  • Ensure exceptional client service by addressing client concerns, handling difficult situations, and promoting positive relationships.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians to ensure clients receive clear communication regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and pricing.
  • Oversee client billing, payment processing, and follow-up to ensure accurate records and timely payments.
Financial Management:
  • Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Experience overseeing P&L statements, analyzing financial data, and developing strategies to increase profitability while maintaining cost control.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures.
  • Work with ownership group to analyze financial data and implement strategies for increased revenue and reduced costs.
Marketing & Community Engagement:
  • Collaborate on marketing efforts to promote the hospital, including social media, local events, and community outreach programs.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with local businesses, rescue organizations, and animal welfare groups.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise to be Successful
Required:
  • 2+ years of experience in veterinary practice management or veterinary clinic operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of veterinary medicine , including an understanding of common procedures, treatments, and client communication.
  • Prior experience managing a veterinary team, including leading staff, overseeing scheduling, and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Familiarity with veterinary software (e.g., AVImark, Cornerstone, or equivalent), and proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage finances, budgets, and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Understanding of veterinary hospital operations, including inventory management, patient care flow, and regulatory compliance.
Preferred:
  • Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience in hospital expansion or renovation projects.
  • Experience with boarding operations is a plus.
  • Strong background in customer service and client retention strategies.
