Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring construction projects are profitable, within budget, and on schedule. This position will work closely with the owner, site supervisor, office manager, and designers to ensure that projects are run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a background in project management, residential construction, and customer service.


Description of Duties:

  • Manage residential construction projects (renovations and new builds) and ensure the company meets profit goals per job.
  • Develop relationships and provide exceptional ongoing service to customers.
  • Celebrate successes and learning opportunities as a team.
  • Oversee the work of the site supervisor, lead carpenter, and trade partners.
  • Create scopes of work and material take-offs.
  • Work with trade partners to obtain quotes on subcontracts and materials.
  • Prepare project estimates for the company and customers.
  • Create and manage project schedule using online scheduling software.
  • Facilitate weekly team production meetings and present solutions to streamline project efficiency.
  • Maintain, track, and report on financial aspects of projects including revenue, expenses, gross profit, and financial forecasts.
  • Register projects with home warranty provider.
  • Manage project file system, quotes, trade partner materials, etc.
  • Support site supervisor and lead carpenter through management of project info, schedule, materials ordering, etc.
  • Create and maintain a happy, healthy work environment and culture.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with team members, customers, and trade partners is required.
  • Willingness to fail and learn quickly from mistakes with a focus on achieving goals is required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality is required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Previous experience as a carpenter, trade technician, or site supervisor is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in construction management an assest.
  • Experience with Gantt charts and construction estimation techniques and software is an asset.
  • Experience working with Co-Construct or BuilderTrend is an asset.
