The Service Manager will be responsible for managing the financial performance and organizational goals of the department and achievement of desired metrics. This includes managing the day-to-day service operations, working within budgets, establishing relationships with and providing reports to senior management. Communicate with office staff, Field Service Advisors, technicians, CSS/sales and resolve customer’s issues. You play an essential role in customer relations by providing efficient problem-solving and building lasting relationships within the organization and external customers. Responsibilities
- Scheduling and supervision of daily service operations
- Responsible for observing workloads, scheduling inner office responsibilities
- Authorize repairs (customers-full maintenance repairs)
- Maintain work in process and adequate staffing to meet the service department needs for efficient operations and profitability.
- Confer with customers as required for problems/solution resolution and proper supervisor of equipment repair and maintenance
- Continuously monitor department goals, objective and policies to assure high quality service and customer satisfaction
- Maintain positive communications with the service staff and company managers
- Work with A/R, Manager, CSS, Sales and customer billing issues
- Discuss and recommend to the Branch Manager with salaries, job performance and changes that need to be made
- Ride with technicians and note suggestions or improvements needed.
- Establish mentors for new technicians
- Review all expenses to insure they stay within budget.
- Review vehicle expense and suggest replacement when appropriate
- All other duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- 8 years’ experience as a “hands-on” forklift, heavy equipment, heavy truck, automotive or agricultural equipment technician
- 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position
- Clean driving record
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., stoop, squatting, sitting, and, driving etc. and work in a noisy shop environment.
