Facilities Technician, South San Francisco UOVO is the nation's leading storage and logistics provider for art, archives, and collectibles with state-of-the-art facilities in New York, Delaware, Florida, California, Colorado, and Texas. UOVO is operated by an expert team of industry professionals and offers bespoke solutions to meet the specialized needs of any collection. Our services include climate-controlled storage, private viewing galleries, local transportation, international shipping, installation, packing, archival photography, digital inventory management, and more.
UOVO seeks a Facilities Technician to join its dynamic and growing team. The Facilities Technician is responsible for completing general work requests associated with the day to day maintenance of the facility under the supervision of the Director of Operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Facilities technician and have a strong technical knowledge as well as an understanding of workplace and personal safety on the job.
Core Responsibilities - General maintenance of Hvac and plumbing equipment as well as troubleshooting and repairs for various equipment
- Ensure operation of mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and troubleshooting malfunctions
- General low voltage electrical repair and install work; installing outlets, rewiring or installing light fixtures
- Drywall and spackle install and repair
- In conjunction with the Facilities Manager assess extraordinary maintenance required for the property i.e. replacing guttering, parking lot repairs, repairing outside lighting, perimeter fence, landscaping, carpets, painting in staff/client common areas,
- Maintaining attic stock to determine inventory level of cleaning supplies and spare parts for mechanical equipment
- Ordering maintenance materials, supplies and products for the facility as needed in conjunction with Manager approval
- Communicate with the wider business regarding any facilities related work scheduled to take place that may impede operations.
- Ability to attend weekly meetings and contribute via a written weekly agenda
- Perform daily walk throughs of the facility to check mechanical, switch gear, fire pump rooms, roof drains, general building conditions and report back any issues found
- General maintenance around the facility including but not limited to cleaning carpets, painting and patchwork, clearing roof drains, landscaping, salting the perimeter of the building and shoveling snow during the winter months
- Escorting vendors as needed throughout the building to perform various jobs or to complete special projects such as racking and room build outs for clients
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing various projects around the facility alongside the Maintenance Engineer
- Other projects as assigned by Manager
Qualifications & Skills - Team Player, able to work in a dynamic environment
- Experience working with a BMS, fire alarm and security system preferred
- Minimum of 3 years' experience or related training
- HVAC or Journeymen license and certification is preferred
- Certifications for Fire Guard (F01), Sprinkler Standpipe (S14) and Fire Pump (S13) preferred
- Must be able to work in an office setting including but not limited to ability to write short correspondence, memos, service requests etc. as well as converse with clients, co-workers and vendors in a professional manner
- Must have a valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation
- Occasional nights and weekends required; flexible schedule is preferable
- On-call availability
This in-person position requires on-site presence at UOVO's South Francisco facility five days a week with occasional visits to Livermore location as well as requests work nights and on weekends.
