Bollinger Motors is seeking a Torque/Tooling Supervisor to ensure the design, manufacture and availability of tools, fixtures, and gages needed to support reliable manufacturing for the plant engineering and operational teams. This position reports to the Advanced Engineering Manager. This is an in-person role at the company's contract manufacturer in Livonia, MI. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead, design, and implement shop floor tools, fixtures, and gages; work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, Operations, and maintenance.Develop standard processes for Plant 5 Tooling Crib; build the tools, crib management, standardized tooling handover procedures and site acceptance criteria.Maintenance and calibration of tools and controllers, along with data management within our MES System (NYSUS)Management of torque requirements and validation per specifications provided by mechanical and electrical engineering teamsInterface with program management, design teams and functional engineering organizations to obtain agreement on tooling requirements and resolve/clarify/revise program requirements issues and ambiguities in design.Ensure product tooling requirements are understood, quoted, and managed in production; drive detailed due diligence and technical reviews with both internal customers and tooling vendors to meet quality or cost requirements.Participate in internal meetings for complex tooling designs, clearly understanding the technical requirements and translating them into manufacturing requirements for solution generation.Monitor the quality of the tools developed and use on the shop floor with periodic design reviews and quality checklists; standardize tooling approach across the company and ensure best practices are assimilated across the facility. Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology.2-5 years of automotive manufacturing experience requiredExperience with handhold/festooned torque tools, lift assists, sub-assembly assembly equipment, and assembly aids required. Strong initiative and the ability to work well in a team environment.? Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products; excel, word, outlook, ect. Working knowledge of 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D products (3DX, Team Center, CATIA, SolidWorks) Understanding of MODAPTs, Line Balance, and Material Display. Develop and maintain Poka-Yoke devices.? Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping.?? Excellent communication skills and experience working with multiple teams.
