Ultimate Staffing is looking for a Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our client in Palo Alto, CA. We are looking for person that can create and own the EHS Function so if you are up for the challenge, please apply. This is a onsite role with a target pay range of $57.50 to $72/hour.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and environmental regulations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. This role will collaborate closely with management and employees to promote a culture of safety, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and operations to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Coordinate employee training programs on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and hazardous materials handling
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on safety metrics, incidents, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote awareness of safety and environmental issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Stay current with developments in safety and environmental regulations to ensure organizational compliance and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 7 + years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing safety programs and initiatives
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees at all levels
  • Ability to develop and implement training programs to increase employee awareness and compliance with all applicable safety guidelines
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with safety management software systems
