Hi-Vac Corporation is seeking a Buyer to join our Purchasing team! The Buyer responsible for project level planning, coordination, and efficient scheduling for all purchased inventory and materials including tooling and services for the support of product manufacturing. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to: acquiring and maintaining technical understanding of products purchased; performing cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities; obtaining materials, components, equipment, and services; developing new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate; monitoring the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value; recommending cost saving proposals, alternative sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize ERP to ensure material availability in support of the production schedule
- Places initial purchase orders from approved requisitions
- Expedites/defers to ensure product availability per the inventory plan
- Sets and maintains purchasing and planning ERP order parameters
- Sourcing of parts, materials and related tooling
- Negotiate pricing and make supplier/cost recommendations
- Evaluate suppliers to Terra Sonic, based upon quality, cost and delivery
- Long range planning
- Coordinate systems and procedures
- Analyze material and component part markets
- New color development for material and paints
- Maintain tooling, drawing, pricing, and supplier files
- Verify schedules, order and control inventory of parts/materials for new model trials.
- Investigate and develop new suppliers
- Supplier/Cost approval
- Support all programs & certifications obtained by Terra Sonic.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
- 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of ERP, MRP planning experience in a manufacturing environment is also required.
