Now Hiring a Food Safety QA TechniciannnPay: $22/hrnnJob Description:nnAs a QA Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of finished products by conducting various inspections, tests, and evaluations. You will be working in a fast-paced production environment, performing tasks related to packaging, labeling, and product safety standards.nnKey Responsibilities:nnWeigh finished products at specified intervals and record deviations from standard; inform Production Supervisor for proper weight adjustments.nnExamine packaging labels to ensure correct labels are being used for the product, including UPC for item number, allergen statements, and code dates.nnInspect the quality of package fabrication for pouches, cartons, and shipping containers.nnVerify accuracy of code dates on pouches, cartons, and shipping containers.nnUnderstand and apply hold/release procedures for nonconforming product or packaging.nnMaintain knowledge of SQF standards, HACCP, and Food Safety initiatives.nnPerform hourly metal detector checks for potential foreign material in products (CCP).nnConduct Critical Quality Point (CQP) checks.nnPerform sensory evaluations of ingredients and finished products for quality.nnExecute Allergen Control and necessary swab verifications.nnConduct chemical analysis/tests on ingredients and finished goods.nnKnowledge of food safety, inspection, audit, quality assurance, and quality control.nnExperience with batch record review, food quality, laboratory procedures, and HACCP.nnFamiliarity with food production, food manufacturing, food science, and line checks.nnProficiency with SQF standards, SOPs, documentation writing, and document control.nnSkills & Qualifications:nnBS in a scientific concentration (preferably food science, food safety, nutrition, biology, or microbiology).
