The Process Inspector is responsible for understanding and performing all finished product test procedures, daily minimum raw material lab testing requirements, and quality process instrument calibrations as outlined below. This position will rotate with a Production crew and is responsible for making sure the finished product meets CertainTeed’s high standards of quality. Adherence to all company safety policies and precautions while performing assigned tasks and at all times when on the premises. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager.nnESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:nnPerform final audit of finished product testing to include the following checks-nnThis process will be done once an hour unless otherwise noted: press bundle, pallet & back coating weight – once every four hours - release tape/alignment dimension – length, width & laminated dragon tooth/shim, shim alignment, sealant caliper/alignment/geometry bundle count & squareness laminated adhesive pattern alignment bundle wrap end/stencils color exposed, shadow line, paint linesnnPerform daily lab minimum raw material testing as needednnThis process will be completed as needed: Softening Point, Penetration, Viscosity, NMR%, Wet Scrub, Tear Strength, Product Moisture %nnCalibration of all quality instruments involved in the process- tape measures, dry scrub machine, sealant caliper, and right anglennFollow procedures outlined for non-conforming productsnnCommunicate with operators, maintenance, and supervisors when any safety, quality, or productivity issues occurnnPerforms checks on the “key” areas of the finished product on their check sheet and continuous checks of the finished product to identify any problemsnnFollow all safety precautions while performing tasks at all timesnnAll areas are to be clean and clear of any debris before/after maintenance days and holidaysnnReport all EH&S incidents – Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment DamagennEnsure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilitiesnnParticipate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actionsnnParticipate in the development, understanding, and review of all position JSA’snnHigh School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing experience. In addition, must satisfactorily complete associated training programsnnCommunication skills must be at a high level in order to clearly communicate issues/problems of the processnnInterfacing with a computerized process monitoring system requires knowledge and skills in the areas of computer navigationnnAbility to lift a minimum of 30 to 75lbs, along with passing a vision color testnnMust have a valid forklift license and complete associated training requirements for safe operations and maintenance of forkliftsnnAbility to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, visual acuity to see details within a few feet of an observer, accepting of criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs, positive demeanor, and model change management for the businessnnMust take and pass the Munsell 100-HUE color testing.
