Conducts medically prescribed Occupational Therapy evaluations and treatments with Mille Lacs Health System's mission and vision. Practices with the patient as the focus striving for achievement of optimal quality and customer service of care at all times. Evaluates and treats disabilities, injuries, and diseases of all age groups. Includes facilitations, cooperation and collaboration with other departments, medical staff, and healthcare facilities.

Professional Skill Standards:

n- Performs thorough patient examinations prior to initiation of treatment.*
n- Establishes an individualized plan of care together with the patient with appropriate, measurable short-term and long-term goals and expected functional outcomes in accordance with examination findings.*
n- Consults with physicians and other related medical disciplines regularly and timely concerning treatment plans, progression or regression of anticipated goals, and discharge planning.*
n- Administers treatment complying with the MN OT Practice Act and facility and departmental Policies and Procedures.*
n- Monitors and assesses progress or lack of, response to treatment, and results of treatment on a continual basis.
n- Assures continuity of optimal quality of occupational therapy care to patients.

Required Education and Experience
n
n- Satisfactory completion of the academic and clinical requirements of an Accredited Program in Occupational Therapy.
n- Current license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Minnesota.
n- Maintains mandatory continuing education requirements.
n- Demonstrates confidence in occupational therapy knowledge base and experience.
n- Ability to work in a team setting and establish good rapport with all co-workers.
n- Adaptability and flexibility to changing work situations and schedules.
n- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
n- Possession of attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills.
n- Requires a valid Minnesota driver's license and insurability with the facility carrier.
n- Maintains a good record of attendance and punctuality.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Professional position. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Involves holiday rotation. May involve work in a patient's home, off-site contracts, and may involve driving.

Supervisory Responsibility
Includes supervision of occupational therapy assistant, departmental support staff and students.
