A financial services firm in New York City is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their staff as their new Employee Relations / Investigations Associate to work on-site on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with HR Business Partners and the Legal Department concerning employee relations issues
- Conduct and facilitates complex, sensitive and time-critical ER investigations. Sources and reviews related documents
- Document investigative path, recommendations, and resolution; write investigative summaries in a clear, concise and legally defensible manner
- Serve as objective third party in reviewing terminations and disciplinary actions
- Ensure fair and consistent employment practices are in place and being followed
- Design, deliver, and execute large-scale projects or initiatives that involve reductions, integrations, new policy/programs, HR tools and training to promote positive management practices across the enterprise
- Conduct research and benchmarking related to projects, initiatives, and process improvements to drive positive employee relations and management practice
- Create and track data to identify trends; recommends remedial actions
- Keep abreast of legal and regulatory requirements; communicate and update related policies according
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of Employment Law / Legal experience
- Juris Doctorate
- Specialized employee relations and employment law experience in the financial services industry
- Experience working with multiple partner groups including but not limited to Legal Counsel & Compliance professionals
- Solid understanding of Financial Services business model
- Solid strategic and tactical investigation skills
- Great interpersonal and advanced relationship management skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), strong attention to detail and highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Specialized Employee Relations and Employment Law experience in the Financial Services industry
- Experience as a Nonpracticing Employment Attorney
